Joseph Doherty, 72, of Old Greenock Road, Port Glasgow, Scotland, and Daniel Doherty, 67, of Icknield Way, Luton, appeared at Luton Magistrates Court on charges of preventing a lawful burial, obstructing a coroner in the execution of his duty and perverting the course of justice.

The remains of 50-year-old Natalia Doherty, who also went by the surname Wilkanowska, were discovered in a garden in Luton in December 2015.

The last confirmed sighting of her had been in April 2003.
