The Mayor of Dunstable, Councillor Liz Jones, was among the scores of volunteers who have been collecting throughout the town for the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
She is seen here at Tesco’s store at Skimpot on Saturday.
Collectors have also been busy at Sainsbury, Asda and Aldi, and poppies have also been on sale at many local shops, schools and businesses. A total of £32,968 was raised during the appeal in Dunstable last year. Collectors include members of the town’s two Rotary Clubs, the Watling Street Club, the History Society and the army and air cadets.
