We are the champions!
Aspiring young footballers from Hillsborough Junior School were celebrating after winning a mini version of the European Football Championships at Luton's Lea Manor Recreation Centre.
They were representing the Czech Republic.
A total of 29 teams from 19 local primary schools took part, each representing a different country from the major tournament.
It was organised jointly by the council, police and Luton Town Football Club with the aim of bringing communities together and celebrating cohesion in the town.
Prior to the event, workshops were held at schools where 300 children were taught about bullying and its effects.
Participating schools were also given coaching sessions by Luton Town Football Club and spent time in the classroom learning about the culture of the European country they were representing.
Dallow Primary, representing Turkey, won the White Ribbon Campaign Fair Play trophy for their positive attitude and behaviour.
Council spokeswoman Sandra Hayes said: “It enabled young people from across our great town to meet new friends, support one another and keep healthy.”
