When Paul Daniels worked his magic for L&D and Keech
He gave us many magical moments over the decades, so it was sad to hear of the passing of Paul Daniels on Thursday, aged 77.
But did you know that the TV magician once performed in Luton – in December 2006?
The event conjured up plenty of interest at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. It was a sell-out with people turning up from as far as Swindon and Brighton to see Paul.

Hide AdCard tricks and boomerang rubber bands were among the memorable moments at the Audience With Paul Daniels show organised by hospital radio DJ Chris Quelch.
Chris told the Luton News at the time: “It was fantastic, it was greatof Paul to give up his time, especially as he’s in the middle of rehearsing for a play, Scrooge – hence the side burns.”
More than £500 was raised for the hospital radio and Keech Hospice.
