Winners visit Parliament

They were even more thrilled when they saw their artwork displayed in the corridors of power.

But the biggest buzz came when they were announced as group category winners.

Sight Concern Bedfordshire spokesman Mark Chapman said: “I think it’s fair to say I was louder than the children, although only a little bit.

“One little boy was so excited on the train to London he could hardly contain himself. And when we arrived at Westminster and Big Ben chimed, he jumped up and down with excitement.”

They took an array of artwork to Parliament including a giant mural and a tactile noisy 3D papier mache egg.

The group for families who have children who are blind or partially sighted meet on the first Saturday of the month at the charity’s Union Street office in Luton.
