Winter changes get green light

Central Bedfordshire Council has approved a planning application for Dunstable MotoX Park to move its operating times from summer to winter.

The application was decided by the development control committee, it included plans to increase the number of bikes on the track at one time from seven to 18.

The owner, Steve Brooks, said: “I think it will impact on the local community much less than our previous permission of seven days a week throughout the summer.”

Some residents opposed the plans for the Billington Road, Stanbridge track because they believed it would increase the noise pollution in the area and it would ruin the countryside.

Don Brewin, planning officer at Billington Parish Council, said: “We were surprised the decision was approved, it is not the decision we were hoping for. There are some serious controls in place to control noise pollution. We are not happy but we must make sure the controls are followed.”

Mr Brooks added: “I would like to thank councillor Versallion who has been a great help to us in this application taking the time to come down to the site and supporting us with some great advice.”
