All P&O cruise holidays will be cancelled for the rest of the year, the travel firm has confirmed.

Some cruises that were slated to depart in early 2021 have also been called off according to the cruise line, which is the largest in the UK.

In a video published online, P&O Cruises’ President Paul Ludlow said: “With evolving restrictions on travel from the UK, unfortunately it is necessary to extend the current pause to the beginning of next year.”

Which cruises are cancelled?

Mr Ludlow said cancellations will vary “according to ship and itinerary,” but will include all trips due to depart in 2020 “as well as early 2021” and will include all Caribbean cruises until the end of January 2021.

Back in March, the cruise company put their holidays on a “pause” due to the pandemic, bringing all their ships back to Southampton, the company’s home port.

All cruises to and from Southampton will be cancelled up to at least February 2021, apart from the Arcadia and Aurora liners, which will be cancelled up until the end of their spring world cruises, as previously announced.

Mr Ludlow added that the company does not have a set date up to which point all cruises will be cancelled, because “decisions have had to be based on the complexity and length of itineraries, advice and guidance regarding ports of call, air availability for fly/cruises and an easing back into service with the new protocols”.

Will I get a refund?

If you have a cancelled booking, you will be notified and entitled to a 125 per cent Future Cruise Credit, which must be used prior to December 2021.

Customers will also have the option of receiving a full refund, which can be applied for through a web form on P&O’s website.

More details on exactly which cruises are cancelled can be found at P&O’s website.
