AFC Dunstable Ladies enjoy their day at Ascot

AFC Dunstable Ladies romped to a 4-0 win over Ascot United Ladies in FA Women’s Cup first round qualifying on Sunday, earning a tie at Royston Ladies in the next stage.

Dionne Manning went close on three occasions, before a fabulous 25-yard effort from Dan Carty broke the deadlock.

The second swiftly arrived as Manning produced a cool finish, while Stacey Savage then made it 3-0 with a fine solo effort.

After the break, Ascot showed some more determination at the back to keep the score down, but Savage rounded off the scoring with another good finish.

Elly Wade was named player of the match, while AFC are away at Royston in Eastern Region Women’s League One South this Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
