Simon Heath snared a 5lb 8oz tench from the South Lagoon, while at North House Lake Ashley Irvine banked an 18lb 6oz mirror, Glenn Millier a 23lb 7oz common, Carlo Borromeo commons of 25lb 12oz and 15lb 10oz, John Hansell commons of 18lb 2oz and 14lb 8oz, Scott Yates commons of 29lb and 19lb and Ray Charman a 21lb mirror.

On the match scene, Enfield Highway WMC fished section 4a of the Grand Union Canal at the Three Locks last Sunday. T White triumphed with 8lb 2oz, M Howard was runner-up with 7lb 2oz and J Fisher third with 6lb 2oz, as they all had mixed bags of skimmers, roach and perch.

Vauxhall AC

There was another great match fished on Vauxhall AC’s very own stretch of the River Great Ouse at Kempston last month, with further big catches of roach and dace filling the nets.

Twelve fished for a total weight of well over 100lbs.

Result: 1, Kevin Osbourne, 19lb 4oz; 2, Mick Burrell, 14lb 6oz; 3, Neal Shern, 13lb 11oz; 4, Nigel Porter, 11lb 14oz; 5, Nigel Bass, 11lb 5oz; 6, Paul Caton, 10lb 4oz.

The Pits at Sharnbrook are being kind to Vauxhall’s leisure anglers with Derek Baker landing a lovely 13lb common carp, while Mark Hawkins had a fine fish of 23lb 9oz.

Woburn Fishery produced a fine specimen 28lb mirror off the top for a new member, while Vauxall bailiff, Frank Fury, had a mirror of 22lb 8oz and a common of 17lb.
