ATHLETICS: Large to represent GB in Canada

Luton AC’s Kerry Large will represent Great Britain at the ITU World Aquathlon Championships in Canada in August.

The 28-year-old, who is ranked fourth in Europe for her age group, will take on the 1,000m open water swim followed by a 5k run.

She has been in good form recently, finishing fourth at the European Championships in Germany in May.

Large competed in the World Championships for Great Britain last year, where she came 28th after only competing/training for three months.

On her hopes for the event, she said: “I am really excited to have been selected to compete at the World Championships.

“It will be amazing to race in Canada and against lots of different countries from around the world.

“I am hoping to finish in the top 10 and to do some fast times.”
