ATHLETICS: Luton AC impress at Championships

Three Luton AC athletes ran exceptionally well at the English National Cross Country Champs recently.

Jamal Lewis, running for Shaftesbury Barnett AC, finished ninth in the U17 mens race.

His impressive performance makes the Icknield High School pupil a real medal contender in the English Schools Championships at Castle Donnington later this month.

Former Schools champion Rebecca Murray also ran well to finish seventh in the U20 ladies and fellow Bedford and County AC athlete Darren Deed came 25th in a field of 1,000 athletes to help his club take the mens team title.
