ATHLETICS: Luton AC play the field to finish third

As usual, it was the field events where Luton excelled, with more than half the points coming in those disciplines.

Father and son combination, Dave Burrell and Jamie Potton-Burrell, were victorious in all the throws except javelin.

Jamie won the hammer with 50.25m as Dave won the B event with 44.79m. In the shot it was Jamie again who took victory with a PB of 12.03m and Dave triumphing in the B with 11.14m.

In the javelin, Dave was third with a throw of 38.25m and Jamie second in the B event with 28.74m.

Double success followed in the discus, Dave winning with 34.92m and Jamie managing 31.01m in the B event.

New recruit, Patrick Tshikala, came second in the long jump with 6.14m and Emmanuel Owolabi won the B event with 5.90m.

Middle distance runners, Andrew McMulkin and Daniel Woodgate, tried their hand at the pole vault, managing 2.20m and 1.00m respectively, as both finished fourth.
