It was the 22-year-old Newcastle fighter’s fourth straight win.

Khan’s manager Graham Earl said: “Sajid was offered to box one of the up-and-coming boxers and when it was mentioned to Sajid he felt he could beat the lad, so we took it.

“He started very well, but not long into the fight he went over on his ankle, but that’s boxing.

“His ankle swelled straight away, he couldn’t put any weight on it at all, so it was the only option.

“Although he won’t be able to box on the November 29 Stevenage Fight Night show he will be ringside to support his stablemate Waqas Ahmed who is making his debut.”
