Bobby on the Futures Rising bill

LUTON boxer Bobby George will take on young Barnsley fighter Ben Wager when he appears on the Dennis Hobson promotion ‘Futures Rising’ Sheffield on April 14, writes Mark Wood.

On the back of his successful points victory over Ideh Ockuko at York Hall in March, the Luton Shamrock star will be looking for his fifth straight pro win against the 21-year-old who has one win and two losses to his name.

Light welterwieght George, 29, who won an Olympic bronze medal for his native Bulgaria, has been receiving rave reviews and said: “I am overwhelmed by the response I got from boxing fans in Luton since my win.

“It has been great to hear people say so many nice things about me and my boxing.”
