He said: “To get beaten how I did was a bit harsh.

“He hit me with many low shots and had points deducted. I got hit low again so I took a knee and got hit by a combination when I was on the knee.

“By the time the ref got involved it was too late, the damage was done.

“He gave me a minute to recover and a minute was not long enough. I was already gone, I didn’t know where I was.

“If I had hit him while he was taking a knee I would have been disqualified, so really he should have been disqualified, but the ref bottled it.

“If he wasn’t a Matchroom fighter I would have won by disqualification, but obviously it didn’t happen.

“I would love an immediate rematch, there’s a big show in December, so I’m going to go to the board, make a complaint and see if we can get the rematch, although I’m sure they wouldn’t be too keen on it.

“If we have a re-match I’m confident I’ve seen enough of Tommy Martin and know what I’d have to do to win.”
