Devine forced to pull out of Watford bout

A broken hand has forced Luton lightweight Michael Devine to pull out of his Southern Area title fight against Bushey Heath’s Liam Shinkwin, 27, at the Colosseum, Watford on Saturday.

Trainer/manager James Paisley said: “Michael broke his hand last week in sparring so I’ve had to pull him out.”

Devine, 24, with a record of nine wins and one defeat, is now next due to fight at York Hall, Bethnal Green, on December 27.

It’s the second time the Lutonian has had to cancel a fight, meaning his last bout was back in March when he defeated Dan Naylor to win the Southern Area super featherweight title.
