Earl ready to silence doubters

LUTON boxer Graham Earl is out to silence the doubters after his rematch with Michael Katsidis was officially confirmed this week, writes Mike Simmonds.

The last time the two fighters met at Wembley Arena on February 17, 2007, it was the Australian who came out on top as Earl’s corner threw in the towel in the fifth round.

After lengthy discussions, the fight got the green light and could go ahead as early as August 13, but Earl admits he has come up against plenty of opposition to stepping out of retirement.

He said: “There are a lot of doubters out there saying is it the right thing to do, but I don’t care about them at all.

“They don’t have to listen to it or watch it, and I want to go out there and shut a lot of them up.”
