Manny can’t wait for ring return

Stopsley fighter Manny Muhammed is aiming for his second coming when he takes to the ring for the Warzone Show at York Hall, Bethnal Green, next month, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 31-year-old super middleweight is scheduled to fight Lithuanian Vaidas Balciauskas, 26, over six rounds on Saturday, March 1.

Muhammed has fought professionally before as he said: “I’ve taken three years off as the organisation I was boxing for got dissolved, so all my records got dissolved too.

“My return had been in the pipeline since last July, but two fights got postponed, so it’s been stopstart.

“I’ve got to take care of myself, train hard, eat properly, live right and see where it takes me.”

The headline fight of the night sees former WBO and IBF inter-continental champions Mark Prince fight for the vacant WBU Europe Cruiserweight crown.
