The 23-year-old went up against Scott Douglas on the Goodwin Promotions Under Starters Orders bill at York Hall on Saturday.

Referee Kieran McCann deemed the contest a draw, scoring it 39-39 as Mustafa said: “Personally I thought I won but obviously the referee saw something else as he had me winning two rounds and him winning two rounds.

“But I think I performed very well, I stuck with a good gameplan, worked a lot of shots to the body.

“My coach is not disappointed though and is very happy with how I boxed.

“How the referee saw it doesn’t matter, my coach was happy and everyone knows that we won the fight.”

Mustafa, who had an impressive amateur career, admitted that his first pro bout had been a completely different experience.

Now having had a taste of the pro ranks, Mustafa is hoping to be back in the ring early next year.
