Reynolds crowned London ABA champ once more

Luton boxer Jordan Reynolds won the London ABA Championships for the fifth time at the weekend, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 18-year-old fought Yaser Halkal Zou Al Ghena in the U67kg weight category.

Reynolds, fighting for West Ham ABC, saw his opponent come out the more aggressive early on and managed to keep him at bay with his superior reach.

A scrappy opening saw both teenagers trying to find their range and rhythm.

In the second round, Reynolds stepped up the pace and was relentless with his body shots.

Al Ghena was clearly troubled by a number of left hooks to the body and slowed down considerably towards the end of the round.

The third saw Reynolds in complete control, working the jab and unleashing plenty more body shots.

With Al Ghena slowing down even more, Reynolds unleashed a perfect straight right hand down the middle which knocked his opponent to the floor.

He just about beat the count but the referee deemed him in no condition to continue.
