Stephenson to appear on Shamrock’s MK show

Shamrock boxers Marco Stephenson and heavyweight Matt Legg are set to appear on Shamrock Boxing’s Return of the Warrior promotion in Milton Keynes on July 21, writes Mark Wood.

The event is being held at WonderWorld Xscape and the show will also feature fellow Shamrock fighter Billy ‘Boy’ Bird, who will be making his second professional appearance after a successful debut last month.

Also on the bill are the undefeated Eli Frankham at cruiserweight and Mark Douglas at welterweight.

Lutonian Stephenson, 29, has an even record of two wins and two defeats, but hasn’t fought since May 18 last year.

He said: “My training is going superb and I am getting in the best shape of my life.

“We have really stepped things up because I want to make a real go of it and get my career back on track.

Headliner Legg is returning after a serious leg injury put him out following a promising start to his career.

He has been sparring for the bout with Shamrock stablemate and former Commonwealth champion Sam Sexton .
