VIDEO: The Academy Luton ABC hold dinner show
Seven young fighters from the volunteer-run New Bedford Road club’s gym took to the ring as a cracking 15-bout dinner show unfolded in front of the night’s special guest, Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham.
Importantly, Saturday’s fight night raised some welcome funds for the club after a weather and recession-hit season had frustrated coach Graham Bell and his team.

Hide AdBell said: “It was a great turnout. We couldn’t have fitted in any more tables in without making it too cramped.
“Herol was great. He absolutely loved the show and said he would come back again.
“What really impressed me was that he spoke to every single boxer – home and away – individually, sometimes for two or three minutes.
“With the sponsored bouts, the auction and the ticket sales we have raised somewhere in the region of £1,800. We can’t complain at that after losing money on the last show.
