Broadway out to star at Eton Dorney
DUNSTABLE-born Tom Broadway is taking part in the GB Rowing Team Senior Trials at Eton-Dorney over the weekend.
The former Bedford Modern School pupil will be hoping to make his mark in the on-going battle to win a place in the GB Rowing Team for the 2012 season. Broadway, 29, won world silver in the men’s eight in 2010 but missed much of 2011 due to injury and will row in the trials with Dan Ritchie who stroked the men’s eight to silver at last summer’s World Championships.
The rowers who are named in the squad on April 4 will compete at the first World Cup of the season in Belgrade from May 4-6.
Each of the men vying for places in the open-weight men’s pair, four or eight – including Broadway – will race in pairs at the weekend.
