Brown put a great cross into the D only for the keeper to block it as team-mate Karen Murphy missed the rebound before it was cleared by the Stevenage defence.

But goals from Chris Chapman, Donna Brown and Kathryn Ward saw Chiltern prevail in a closely-fought game.

A Chiltern side made up of second and third team players drew 2-2 against another Stevenage team.

Stevenage lent 10-player Chiltern an extra player in the first half and Hilary Ward gave Chiltern the lead when she fired through the Stevenage keeper’s feet.

Stevenage hit back with two goals, but the cavalry arrived in the second half for Chiltern with the introduction of Steward. Chiltern were constantly on the attack and finally got their reward with a brilliant goal by Gill Sentinella.
