Tring took an early lead through a quick counter as Chiltern’s battling defence was kept busy in the first half.

Keeper Katie Williams made some good saves, while there was a mid-air off the line save by Lorna Ayres. Nicki Tiley battled hard, but shortly before half time Chiltern leaked another goal.

The hosts had a handful of chances that came to nothing and they fell further behind early in the second half.

Fit-again Emma Cook rifled in a short corner to lift Chiltern as the hosts put in a better second half performance, with Claire Browne playing well in the hole on her return from injury, and player of the match Carolyn Doherty brilliant in midfield once again.

Chiltern’s second was a real beauty as Alison Fleckney fired home a fierce strike from the top of the D.

In Division Three, Chiltern IIs were hammered 12-0 at Royston. Player of the match Kathryn Ward and Jackie Dadd worked well in midfield, but Royston defended well as they romped to victory.

Meanwhile, in Division Five, Chiltern IIIs were well beaten 6-0 at Bedford.
