Brown hits quickfire 50 as Haiderys hammer LPs

Shadrak Brown was the star for Luton Haiderys as they hammered Luton Pakistanis by nine wickets in the Luton Midweek League Premier Division on Tuesday night.

After Pakistanis batted first, making 117-7 in 16 overs thanks to Mohammed Haroon’s 42, Haiderys then set about their target.

Led by Brown, who made a quickfire 60, they eased to 121-1 off just 8.4 overs.

Luton Eagles were beaten by Lions CC, suffering a six wicket defeat.

Eagles made 112-7 from their allotted 16 overs with Hameed Khan taking 2-29, while Lions then replied with 116-4 in the 12th over.

Luton CC comfortably saw off The Saracens by six wickets in their clash.

Batting first, Saracens were dismissed for just 90 as Naz Ali claimed four wickets.

He then impressed with the bat too, scoring 39 as Luton reached 95-4

In Division One, AKCC edged out Kashmir Cavaliers by one run in a thrilling encounter.

Cavaliers had first use of the wicket and put 149-6 on the board as Sachin Vage scored 41.

They then claimed two wickets as AKCC just about triumphed, restricting their opponents to 148 all out.

The outcome was nowhere near as close in the game between Accident Specialists and Luton Saracens.

Shabaz Hussain starred for Specialists, finishing with 4-7 from four overs as Saracens were dismissed for a mere 60.

That was of no trouble to Specialists in reply, as they reached 65-0.

AKXI defeated Luton United Stars by 30 runs.

Batting first, AKXI totalled 106-8 and then proceeded to bowl United Stars out for 76 with Najeeb Ahmed taking 4-20 from his four overs.

Division Two saw Challney just have enough to beat Cornered Tigers by six runs.

Shamas Mehmood top-scored with an unbeaten 39 as Challney made 124-4 and they then restricted Tigers to 118-4 in reply.

Cricketers were narrow seven-run winners over Luton Majestics.

Zaheer Iqbal hit a fine 64 for Cricketers in their total of 145-3, while that proved just out of Majestics reach, as they were dismissed for 137.

Hatters lost out by five wickets to Haidery Tigers in their match.

Tigers made 119-7 from 16 overs, but Tigers scored 122-5 with three ball left, Sheraz Ali hitting 34.
