Cricket teams have the chance to train with England team

CRICKET teams in Bedfordshire are being given the chance to win an Ultimate Kit and Laundry Package, as well as a chance to attend a training day with the England cricket team or have England legends visit their club, as part of an AEG campaign backed by former England Cricket Captain Michael Vaughan.

The campaign has been launched by AEG, the premium home appliance brand that combines advanced technology with award-winning design, and will see 40 grassroots cricket teams selected to receive the kit and laundry packages. Each of the prize packages includes 12 bespoke Canterbury Sportswear cricket kits, as well as a top-of-the-range AEG washing machine in time for the start of the 2012 cricket season.

The decision to move into cricket forms part of AEG’s ongoing commitment to support grassroots sports in the UK, which began in early 2011 with a campaign that saw hundreds of junior teams apply for rugby kit and laundry packages. More than 1000 kits have been supplied to grassroots teams and the winners had the chance to train with the England rugby team and get visits from England rugby legends to their own clubs.

Talking about AEG’s extension into cricket, Michael Vaughan said: “It’s fantastic that AEG is now supporting grassroots cricket. It’s so important that youth teams are given all the backing possible as they’re our future stars, while grassroots teams of any age can also benefit from these fantastic kit and laundry packages. The prizes are of the highest quality and I urge every team in the UK to apply.”

Electrolux Group Head of UK Marketing Graham Bremer added: “Due to the success of our ongoing grassroots rugby campaign, we are now expanding our commitment to grassroots sports by extending into cricket. By offering teams a kit and washing machine, we hope they can redistribute the costs that would normally be spent on sportswear and laundry towards training and other facilities for the club.

“At AEG, we’re keen to put our products to the ultimate test and demonstrate the technology we have invested in the washing process. And what better way than washing dirty kits after a tough game?”

To apply, simply fill out an application form at www.aeg.co.uk/grassroots and 40 lucky teams will be selected. In addition to the free kit and laundry products, each team will also have the chance to win some amazing prizes.
