During the visit she coached girls from Year 6-11, led a leadership workshop, and a session giving insight into what it is like to be an elite athlete.

Gunn also launched satellite school girls’ cricket clubs at Denbigh and Challney.

Sally Deyus, Community Sport and Well Being Officer at Denbigh High School, said: “Jenny was fantastic with the children, the question and answer session was fun and informative.

“I thought she was a perfect role model to the children, very inspiring yet so grounded and fun.

“It gives us a real opportunity as a school to build our girls cricket program further.”
