Deed wins John O’Callaghan race
Not only was this an amazing 14th consecutive win for Deed, who is a former Icknield High School pupil, but his time of 14.22mins was also a course record.
Luton AC dominated the ladies event with Claire McMahon the comfortable winner in 31.33mins from club-mates Hannah Farmer, 17, in second and Christine Lathwell in third.

Hide AdIn the ladies Masters categories, the winners were Lorraine Daglish (Luton AC), Kirstie Meeten, Georgia Dench and Georgie Hamilton.
The men’s section saw leading Veteran Adrian Copp of Stopsley Striders run 28.38mins to finish fourth.
The other winners were Dave Debnam (Stopsley), David Green, Peter Scrowther, John Chapman and Dave Seldon. V70 winner Alan Wilson, from Canberra, ran for the Luton Hare and Hounds in the 1960s before he emigrated to Austalia.
Also making an emotional return to the race was Jamie Dooley, son of Vauhall AC legend Richard, whose memorial tree stands by the start line.

Hide AdThe second race in the Summer Series, the Wardown 5km, takes place on July 14 at 11am.
