Dees fell Forest to end losing run

Dees were out of the blocks quickly and missed two early penalties through Kevin Boland.

He then passed over kicking responsibilities to Lukas Chamberlain, who swiftly put his team 3-0 in front.

Dave Marshall’s side applied relentless pressure, stretching the opposition defence, which paid-off when Dees bagged their first try as a catch-and-drive routine saw Scott Oliver over.

The conversion was missed, but Dunstablians led 8-0, an advantage they took with them into the interval.

In the second period, Forest came out with a renewed sense of urgency, and instantly went on the attack.

Dees defended doggedly, making big hits, and with their first and only real attack of the half, claimed a second try,

Capitalising on the ball falling loose from the line-out, possession was worked to Boland, who made a dynamic burst forward, before offloading to Jordan Warner.

The winger used his lightening pace and a clever side-step to beat his man, before expertly finishing off the move.

Boland, reclaiming the kicking role, added the extras as Dees led 15-0.

Peter Thompson, David Tuffen and Chris Chandler all made appearances in the second-half, as they replaced Matt Reed, Alex Ayres and Matt Knight.

Despite giving away a number of penalties, Dees rarely looked in danger of conceding, as they remained composed to finally bring their eight game losing streak to an end.

Man of the match went to Harry Barter, who was faultless in defence.

Dees now have the weekend off as they are without a game on Saturday.
