Dees receive a major boost thanks to RFU grant

Dunstablians have recieved a major boost with the news they will be the beneficiary of a “Lead Up & Legacy Better Facilities” grant to the tune of £7,500.

It is part of the RFU’s “Better Facilities Grants” scheme for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and will help to enhance the club’s facilities.

Chairman Graham White said: “We are delighted that our project has been chosen as a recipient for a “Better Facilities Grant”.

“We will now have some of the best facilities in the area that local people from Dunstable, Houghton Regis and surrounding villages can use during the week.

“The 2015 Rugby World Cup will inspire a new wave of people of all ages to become involved in rugby and this RFU investment will help our club to be even better equipped to welcome newcomers.”

Dees vice president and chairman of the Luton & Bedfordshire Youth Association John Chatterley was delighted by the news for the Bidwell Hill club.

He added: “This investment by the RFU is excellent news. Dunstablians Rugby Club has an enthusiastic group of hard-working volunteers and this funding will enable them to do even more for young people in the community.”
