A fast-paced encounter ensued with some great passing and tackling on display.

Dunstablians took the lead when Will Philpot saw a gap to score Dees’ second try, which was wonderfully converted by Owen Lara in difficult conditions.

However, Leighton score two unconverted tries before the break to lead 15-12.

Buzzards made a strong start to the second half as they touched down again, but Dees rallied as Eddie Williams made good ground, supported by George Hand, as he crossed the whitewash.

Leighton responded with another try, only for Dees to again hit back as good hands worked the ball to George Aitchison who dodged the Buzzards defence to score.

Head coach Dave Coker rotated Dees well and even loaned new boys Nick Ross and Dan Martin to the opposition due to injury.
