AFC Dunstable have been crowned champions of the SSML Premier Division after nearest rivals London Colney were beaten 2-0 at London Tigers last night.
With Colney needing victory to preserve their unlikely hopes of catching AFC due to the Creasey Park’s side far superior goal difference, the defeat means that with two games to go, Steve Heath’s side will now receive the trophy.
The boss tweeted: “Very proud manager tonight, players have been different class and deserve everything they get.”
It’s been a superb season for AFC, as they have won 31 from their 40 league matches, scoring 116 goals in the process, to ensure promotion to the Southern League Division One Central.
The table-toppers will visit Colney Heath this weekend, before travelling to Welywn Garden City on Bank Holiday Monday.
