Barton beat Guildford and sign two former Luton youngsters in time for Leighton clash

Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central: Barton Rovers 3 Guildford City 1

Barton Rovers followed up their 2-2 draw with Slough Town on Thursday night by earning an excellent 3-1 victory over promotion-chasing Guildford City at the weekend.

A goal from Rhys Hoenes either side of Jermaine Hall’s penalty was enough to control the game from start to finish.

The pair’s return from holiday has been a welcome boost to the Rovers line up especially with injuries and suspensions impacting Dan Kennoy’s squad selection.

Barton have also added to their squad with the signings of former Luton Town youngsters Liam McGovern and Jordan Patrick in time for their debut against Guildford.

Both players have been registered with several Southern Premier League sides this season including the likes of Arlesey Town, Cambridge City, St Albans and Hitchin Town.

Bartons travel to Leighton Town tomorrow to hopefully complete a successful Easter weekend with a return of seven points from three league games.
