Barton bounce back in style at Chertsey

Barton Rovers bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 triumph at Chertsey Town in their Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central clash on Tuesday night.

Manager Dan Kennoy made three changes to the starting 11 from Saturday’s hammering by Burnham with the inclusion of James Bent, Bobby Dance and James Edgerley.

Rovers dominated early on and went 1-0 up after 17 minutes as a great through ball from Aaron Lansiquot found the advancing Jermaine Hall to slot home.

The second half continued with Rovers in a domineering mood doubling the lead through Rhys Hoenes on 50 minutes.

He then put the result beyond doubt with his second of the game on 77 minutes as Barton picked up a welcome clean sheet.

A delighted boss Dan Kennoy said: “The lads all gave 100 per cent which is what we ask of them.

“Saturday was woeful so I’m just glad we showed what we are about. The win was a must but the clean sheet was something we played for as well.”

Rovers travel to high flying Rugby on Saturday.
