Barton suffer heavy Biggleswade defeat

Biggleswade Town 5 Barton Rovers 2

Barton Rovers crashed to a 5-2 defeat at Biggleswade Town in Division One Central of the Evo-Stik Southern League on Saturday.

Jamie Arlick gave the home side the lead at half time and doubled the advantage four minutes into the second half with a superb volley.

Barton got back into the game through Bobby Dance’s 53rd-minute penalty and spurned a great chance to equalise when Ricky Case fired over.

Arlick completed his hat-trick just before the hour, but Rovers kept fighting and gave themselves hope on 78 minutes as Hall fired home after good work from Rhys Hoenes.

Rovers looked capable of snatching a point, but as they pushed forward in search of an equaliser, Biggleswade scored two breakaway goals through Lee Allinson and Craig Daniel to give the scoreline a more flattering look.

This Saturday Rovers are at home to second bottom North Greenford United.
