Molten Spartan SML Division One side Crawley completely dominated their Division Two guests, scoring three times in the opening half hour.

The Maroons took the lead after just two minutes when Peter O’Donnell set up Jamie Warne and Henry Mungwira fired home his cross.

Two minutes later John Butler headed in Warne’s cross, but his effort was ruled out for a push by Mark Smith.

Crawley continued to press as Mungwira had an effort blocked by Adam Mace in the Kent goal, before the Maroons doubled their lead on 11 minutes when Lui Sarrington’s header was dropped over the line by Mace.

Chris Harvey had a shot saved by Mace, while Pat Daly’s effort was kept out by Dean Bull, before Crawly did get a third on 29 minutes when Mungwira laid the ball back for Daniel Mead to rifle home.

Kent changed their formation at half time which helped to stem the flow a little, as the visitors managed to scramble away a series of testing Sarrington crosses.

Bull denied Daly again on 59 minutes, while O’Donnell sent a diving header just wide from Sarrington’s cross and Mungwira hit the bar.

Kent hit back on 69 minutes when Stuart Strange tripped Daly and skipper Adam Currington drove home the penalty.

The visitors were unable to kick on though as Crawley continued to dominate and added a fourth when Mungwira’s neat one-two with man of the match O’Donnell ended with him chipping home.

Last night (Tuesday) Crawley were due to go to Risborough Rangers in the second round of the Division One Cup, host Winslow United in Division One on Saturday and go to Baldock Town on Wednesday (November 20).
