Blues boss heaps praise on Talbot and Kaloczi

Dunstable Town manager Tony Fontenelle heaped praise on his assistant manager and captain ahead of the Blues' match against Cambridge City this afternoon.

The Blues recently won team of the month for December in the Southern Premier League, with Fontenelle keen to point out how instrumental his number two Danny Talbot and skipper James Kaloczi have been.

Fontenelle said: “They (the team) won the award and rightly so. It is a testament not only to them, but to my assistant Danny Talbot as he does a majority of the work behind the scenes.”

Kaloczi took the captain’s armband from veteran keeper, Paul Bastock earlier this month, who left to play for Stamford AFC, with the manager impressed with how well Kaloczi has dealt with his new role.

He continued: “He has got better and better as the season goes on. What he brings on and off the pitch, not only in his character, but he is a young man with an old head on his shoulders. Since he has been made captain, he has taken to it like a duck to water.”

This weekend’s opponents, Cambridge City, have already played Dunstable twice, once in the cup and the league, with City winning one and drawing the other.

Fontenelle added: “Cambridge come to Creasey on the back of a good win on Wednesday, having had indifferent form earlier this season.

“Knowing Gary Roberts (Cambridge City manager), he has got such a vast network and always has a strong outfit, it is going to be a tough, close game.”
