Blues held by Hungerford

Southern League Premier Division: Hungerford Town 0 Dunstable Town 0

Dunstable Town were held to a goalless draw by Hungerford Town in their first-ever meeting on Tuesday night.

The visitors had to make changes as defender Anthony Charles has moved to Nuneaton Town, while goalkeeper Jamie Head has re-signed and Ben Herd was available after suspension.

Former Luton Town youngster Arel Amu was on the bench too as Dunstable came close early on when Charlie Henry’s shot was saved by Paul Strudley.

The visitors thought they had taken the lead when Scott Davies’ free kick was met by Nick Beasant, only for Chris Marsh to deflect his goalbound header away.

A poor clearance from Dunstable enabled Mark Draycott a chance, but he couldn’t make it count.

Hungerford’s best opportunity then saw Dan Herring send over a fine cross and Lee Smith smash his shot against the post.

The Blues travel to Dorchester this weekend.
