Blues run out good winners

FOOTBALL: Dunstable Town ran out convincing 3-0 friendly winners over Arlesey Town at the weekend.

An impressive first half performance from the Blues saw them net three times against a team that play their football two divisions higher.

On-loan Luton Town keeper Lewis Kidd made his debut in goal and, after subduing some early aggression from the visitors, Town seized a 15th-minute lead when Tony Burnett rose to meet Danny Mead’s cross. However, he was injured in the process and replaced by Chris Francis. Francis had a part in the second goal as he was impeded in the penalty area and Jonathan Cooper fired home from the spot.

A third goal came from Nathan Frater two minutes before the interval and there were still chances for Lee Roache before the whistle.

The second half was more equal and, although Arlesey eluded the offside trap, their finishing let them down.
