Chris Gibson had an acrobatic overhead kick from a Warne corner fly into the side netting and Nicky Nolan had a shot well saved by James Sturgeon.

It took Wodson 20 minutes to get into the game and they should have taken the lead when, from an attack down the left, the ball broke kindly for Jordan Halls, but he shot over when it seemed easier to score.

A minute later Wodson created another chance but Dean Bull saved well from Courtney Clay.

Crawley responded with a corner from James Gibson which was knocked wide by Mark Garrett, while Stuart Strange’s shot was well turned over by Sturgeon on 32 minutes.

Green should have opened their account when good interplay between Gibson and Peter O’Donnell set up Warne, but his point-blank effort was well blocked by Sturgeon.

Crawley completely dominated the second half, while Wodson always looked dangerous on the break.

Gibson shot over five minutes in after being set up by Peter O’Donnell, and a minute later Warne fired wide.

Shortly after Gibson put another effort over the bar and he then turned provider for O’Donnell, who was off target.

Wodson responded as Jordan Halls headed Josh O’Brien’s cross over the bar on 75 minutes while, with time running out, Gibson waywardly sliced Anthony Wright’s cross.

However, Wodson withstood constant Crawley pressure in the closing stages as the game finished goalless.

On Bank Holiday Monday Crawley entertain high-flying London Lions.
