Crawley ready for new term

FOOTBALL: Crawley Green completed their pre-season fixtures with a creditable 1-1 draw against United Coutnies League side Newport Pagnell FC at the weekend.

Pagnell took the lead midway through the first when an inswinging corner went in off the far post.

Crawley had the better of the second half and deservedly equalised 15 minutes from the end through Courtney Massey.

Midway through the second half Halton grabbed an equaliser against the run of play, but Crawley continued to dominate and, after hitting the woodwork several times, Massey scored the winner.

On Saturday Crawley open their season with an FA Cup Extra Preliminary round home game against Stotfold.

Crawley Reserves beat Arlesey Town Reserves 4-0 in midweek with goals from Karl Abella, Callum Frater and a brace from James Potter.
