Defeats for AFC and Rovers

FOOTBALL: AFC Dunstable lost 2-0 at home to St Margaretsbury in Molten Spartan SML Premier on Saturday.

Anthony Anstead hit a post in the 16th minute for the visitors before they won it in the second half. Leigh Rose fired the first past Nick Gardner and sealed victory with a second eight minutes from time.

AFC were due to host Hertford Town in round two of the Premier Division Cup last night and travel to Haringey Borough in the league this weekend.

Rovers sent crashing out

FOOTBALL: Barton Rovers crashed out of the FA Trophy with a first round qualifying 1-0 home defeat to Belper Town.

The decisive goal arrived on 37 minutes on Saturday with a scrappy strike from nothing from Jon Froggatt as Rovers missed numerous chances to net.

Marlow visit Sharpenhoe Road in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central on Saturday. Barton are then due to entertain Arlesey Town in the first round of the Red Insure Cup on Tuesday night.
