The visitors went close through Terry Dixon early on, while Jemale McKenzie-Lowe’s pace saw him break away, but he was foiled by the home keeper.

Newman Carney and Adam Watkins impressed in central midfield, but Daventry were ahead on 35 minutes when Tommy Berwick fired home a free kick.

Dixon lobbed narrowly over, before Town levelled just before the break when Kyle Anthony was credited with the goal.

In the second half, Jamie Head took the gloves, while Lee Roache moved up front alongside Tony Fontanelle, but the hosts took the lead from another Berwick set-piece.

Carney set up Charlie Henry for a shot that was saved, while Daventry hit the post late on, but Blues were unable to find an equaliser.
