Football round-up: Weather hits hard as Totternhoe lose at Mursley United

The wet weather played havoc with the football fixtures at the weekend.

Both Dunstable Town’s game at Potters Bar Town and Barton Rovers’ game at St Ives Town in Calor Southern League Division One Central on Saturday were postponed.

Meanwhile, Crawley Green’s Challenge Trophy second round tie with Hertford Town on Wednesday was also postponed.

In the Moltern Spartan League, only one game went ahead involving our teams as Totternhoe lost 1-0 at Mursley United in Division Two, Ben Brill scoring the winner on 58 minutes.

Crawley Green v Arlesey Town Res in Division One, the Division Two matches between Old Bradwell United and Kent Athletic and Wolverton Town v The 61 FC (Luton), the Reserve Division One matches involving AFC Dunstable Res at Oxhey Jets Res and The 61 FC (Luton) Res at Stotfold Res and Totternhoe Res v Wolverton Town Res in Reserve Division Two were all postponed.

The quarter-finals of the Bedfordshire Intermediate Cup saw Crawley Green Res win 1-0 at Henlow thanks to Charlie Betts’ goal and Kent Athletic Res beat Lewsey Park 3-2 on penalties after extra-time had finished 1-1.

This Tuesday Crawley Green head to Harpenden Town, while on Saturday Barton Rovers host Slough Town, Dunstable Town entertain North Greenford United, Kent Athletic are home to Mursley United, The 61 FC (Luton) entertain Tring Corinthians, AFC Dunstable Res entertain London Colney Res, The 61 FC (Luton) Res visit Baldock Town Res, Kent Athletic Res head to Cockfosters Res and Totternhoe Res go to Wodson Park Res

The following Tuesday Barton head to Arlesey Town in the second round of the Bedfordshire Senior Cup.
