Former Blues skipper heads to Hemel

Former Dunstable Town skipper James Kaloczi has signed for National League South side Hemel Hempstead.

The defender was club captain for the Blues last term, before moving to St Albans for the final four games of the campaign.

Town chairman John McLoughlin said: “That was disappointing as we had made him club captain but James has decided that he wanted an agent to see what his options are in football and therefore I have to respect that decision.

“James is a talented young man and with Luke Pennell and Jonathan Edwards getting deals with pro clubs last season then he wants to see if he can do the same which is understandable.

“But I am glad to see that players from DTFC are being spotted and that can only show how we have changed the club.”

Meanwhile, Dunstable were awarded the Respect award for last season at the recent Southern League Presentation Night in Torquay.

McLoughlin added: “This award is for how the officials are welcomed and how players and management treat them on the pitch, again this shows how far we have come.”
