Golden time for The 61 FC

The 61 FC (Luton) held their 50th anniversary celebrations last month with over 220 guests in attendance as their end of season awards were also handed out.

Winning the Leggetter Cup after taking the Molten Spartan SML Reserve Division Two title were the club’s second team, while the Greenwood Cup went to Mark Davie and Sean Ledwidge, who have played over 1,400 games between them.

The Senior Clubman Of The Year award went to first team captain John Frost for his efforts both on and off the pitch, while the Bill Ayres Trophy For Young Clubman Of The Year was awarded to 18-year-old Bradley Currington.

The Outstanding Young Player Of The Year gong was given to Dan Wills, while Leading Goalscorer on Saturdays went to Current Mutanga with 34 goals and the Sunday prize was scooped by Ryan Smith with 17 goals.

The Players’ Player Of The Year for the first team was Kevin McManus, Andrew Sinclair (second team), Carlo Bittens (third team), while Gavin Morris took the Sunday prize.

Team Players Of The Year for the first team went to Alex Bennett, seconds was Andrew Sinclair and thirds was Marcus Bittens, while Ian Ward claimed the Sunday honour.
