Hatters rated v Newport County
Stephen O’Donnell: 6 - Started out as full back and then moved into a right midfield position, due to Hylton going off, but his crosses never reached their intended targets with enough consistency.
Alan Sheehan: 7.5 - Got stuck in during his stints on the left and in the middle of defence, clearing his lines effectively.

Hide AdJohnny Mullins: 6.5 - Risk in starting him looked to have paid off in the first hour, but unfortunately his injured eventually flared up again and he had to be replaced.
Scott Cuthbert: 8 - Immense performance from the captain who clearly relished the aerial battle that Newport launched his way. Won almost all of his headers and gave Town a real leadership at the back.
Glen Rea: 6.5 - Started in midfield before dropping into the back-line with Luton forced to reshuffle and a dogged effort wherever he found himself ending up.
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 6.5 - Another who found the playing surface tough to get to grips with as he could never set off on his runs from deep such was the uneven bounce.

Hide AdJordan Cook: 4.5 - Offered very little as an attacking threat throughout, while plenty of set-pieces were often straight in the vicinity of home keeper Joe Day.
Isaac Vassell: 7 - His threat was often curtailed by the shocking pitch, but did manage to make a number of breakaways down the right flank. HIs pace drew the foul that saw O’Brien dismissed and almost set up Palmer for late winner.
Danny Hylton: 6.5 - Won and converted the penalty which gave Hatters the perfect start. Huge claims for another on the stroke of half time, before a tight hamstring saw him fail to reappear for the second period.
Ollie Palmer: 7 - First start for the club as Luton had no option but to go more direct throughout the evening. Made some good runs in behind the defence and was inches away from sealing all three points at the death.

Olly Lee (SUB): 6 - Got on the ball as best he could in the closing stages.
Jack Marriott (SUB): 6 - Few threatening sprints forward as he added some zest to Town’s attacks.
