Hatters rated v Oxford United

Elliot Justham: 6.5 - Distribution was once again good, and he made a vital save with the scores at 3-2, flicking Roberts' shot on to the post. However, might feel he could have done slightly better with both of Oxford's goals.

Stephen O’Donnell: 8 - Improvement is continuing game by game as he catches the eye going forward, while has tightened up considerably defensively too. Partnership with Green really beginning to flourish as well.

Dan Potts: 7.5 - Solid showing at the back from Potts who helped keep Kemar Roofe quiet for the majority of the encounter. Able to break forward too when possible and support Town’s front-line with some good crosses.

Glen Rea: 7.5 - Recovered from losing Hylton early on for Oxford’s goal to keep a tight leash on the United striker and his antics afterwards. Judged his challenges to perfection at times despite home fans thinking otherwise, as he prevented the ball reaching the home forwards on numerous occasions.

Alan Sheehan: 7.5 - Fine display once more as he managed to stop Hylton having the impact he would have wanted. Cool head enables Hatters to get their passing game from the back going too.

Olly Lee: 7 - Gave the ball away poorly for the U’s opening strike but played his part in rectifying that, showing superb technique to volley Green’s pinpoint cross past Buchel to make it 2-1. Yet to score a regulation goal for the Hatters.

Alex Lawless: 7.5 - Great to see him back in from the start for his 200th appearance in a Luton shirt and was a key factor in Hatters being able to keep possession ticking over in the centre of the pitch.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu: 8.5 - Excellent once more from Pelly who is thriving in the confidence placed on him by Town’s boss. Boundless energy throughout displayed as he was still trying to get forward in the closing stages and add to Luton’s lead.

Josh McQuoid: 7 - Proved a good outlet for Town on the left hand side and it was he who pounced on Buchel’s howler to tee up Joe Pigott for his opening strike.

Joe Pigott (STAR MAN): 8.5 - Answered his critics in real style with a goal poacher’s strike for his first and then a finish of unerring quality for the second. Led the line superbly as you could see his confidence rising with every passing minute.
