Hatters snap up defender Sheehan
Luton Town have revealed their first signing of the summer, with Bradford City defender Alan Sheehan agreeing a two year deal at Kenilworth Road.
The 29-year-old, who was also manager Nathan Jones’ first loan addition when he took over in January, made 20 appearances for the club, scoring once, that a stunning strike against Yeovil Town.
Sheehan, who also captained the team in the absence of injured skipper Scott Cuthbert, will official join on July 1, following the expiry of his contract at Valley Parade.
Speaking to the club’s official website: “I have really enjoyed my football since being at Luton Town. For me it’s all about enjoying the football.
“The manager was a huge factor in me coming to Luton and obviously Paul Hart, Mick Harford and Kevin Nugent are a very strong team and I’m really delighted to be joining.”
Speaking about Sheehan to the News/Gazette yesterday, Jones said: “He’s someone that we obviously have spoken to and someone who did very well for me after being my first loan signing at the club.”
